Vancouver ACM SIGGRAPH presents a selections from the SIGGRAPH 2003 Computer Animation Festival: the SIGGRAPH 2003 Animation Theater.
Each year, the annual SIGGRAPH conference includes two internationally recognized showcases of the best computer graphics achievements from around the world. The Computer Animation Festival contains a selection of 76 juried works from a voluminous 635 submissions. Twenty-five will be shown in the Electronic Theater, including 13 international and 5 student pieces. The pieces were selected based on extremely high standards of creative and technical excellence.
The energy and excitement of the annual SIGGRAPH conference, held in San Diego this past summer, will be brought directly to Vancouver this November by screening the SIGGRAPH 2003 Electronic Theater. This is always a memorable annual event for the Vancouver computer graphics community, both for those who were not able to attend the conference itself, as well as for attendees, providing an event in which to reflect on their experiences of having "visited the future" during their time at the conference.
