BrightSide Technologies
Presented on Wednesday, June 21 2006 at 6:30 pm
If you missed our October 2004 event, you won't want to miss this demo of BrightSide's latest High Dynamic Range display!
BrightSide Technologies is a leading innovator in the field of High Dynamic Range (HDR) image technology. The "Dynamic Range" of an image is the contrast ratio between its brightest and darkest regions. Conventional technology has difficulty capturing, storing and accurately displaying HDR scenes that include both bright and dark regions. BrightSide has developed a suite of HDR technologies that can be applied over the full imaging pipeline to address this problem.

Main presentation:
The Designer as "Auteur":
The recontextualized filmmaker
With Paul Matthaeus — CEO/Chief Creative Officer, DIGITAKITCHEN
Presented on Wednesday, June 21 2006 at 7:30 pm
Please join us for this special presentation by Paul Matthaeus, an internationally reknowned creative thinker and author, and CEO/Chief Creative Officer of DIGITALKITCHEN, an Emmy Award-winning full-motion electronic media company with offices in Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, and soon in New York City.
As filmmaking finds its way to the web, the notion of the "Designer as Auteur" has become increasingly relevant. Matthaeus will explore the concept of "Auteur Theory," developed in the 1950's by French film critics, in the context of changes in technology, collaboration and new media. The behind-the-scenes process at DIGITALKITCHEN reveals how Matthaeus sees the evolution of the auteur within contemporary media culture.
